Melissa Nunn, a local 16 year old athlete, was recently paralyzed while on vacation in Hawaii with her family. Melissa and her family have been traumatized in many ways. The community has rallied around the family and their prayers and show of support has been of great comfort to the Nunn's. The family has been traumatized financially, as well. That is why our organization, aMiracle4Melissa.org seeks your help! The average expenses incurred in the first year after an injury are $329,000. Here are a few other facts for you to consider: Average cost of a van that accommodates a quadriplegic: $45,000 Average cost of a lift to transfer a quadriplegic from bed to wheelchair: $9,500 Average cost of modifying a home into a wheelchair accessible living environment: $175,000.
